Welcome New Bulldogs and Welcome Back Returning Bulldogs!

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are excited to begin another year of learning, growth, and success at Santa Maria Middle School. This year promises to be filled with rigorous instruction, opportunities for critical thinking, engaging extracurricular activities, and meaningful school events that bring our families and community together.

Over the past several years, we have focused on developing, implementing, and sustaining effective intervention systems to support the diverse learning needs of all students. This year, students will continue to participate in a daily academic intervention period designed to provide targeted academic support and enrichment. Please note that this period will not be held on Thursdays.

Stay in the pack! Show up every day: At Santa Maria Middle School, our mission is to Inspire, Thrive, and Empower every student. One of the most important factors in student success is consistent attendance. Being at school every day and arriving on time helps students build strong academic habits, stay connected with their teachers and peers, and make the most of every learning opportunity. We appreciate your continued partnership in supporting your child’s success through regular attendance.

Never miss a bark: We encourage all families to regularly access the PowerSchool Parent Portal to monitor student grades, attendance, and academic progress. In addition, progress reports will be sent home with students every Thursday beginning after the second week of each quarter.
